Intro

I was told to start a blog.

I responded with how no one would want to read my thoughts on breweries, and that reviews have already been written for everywhere I've been, or will go.  I mean, when I'm around friends I already talk endlessly about beer anyway, so who in their right mind would want to read my opinion when I'm NOT around babbling?!

Friends in response would say:
-Well, I'll read it.
-Opinions are opinions, and you never know who would find them useful.
-This way we can feel like we're travelling with you (as if I don't already txt people enough about my travels as it is).
-You love beer, so you should write about it.

So, in a way, I'm starting this blog to prove folks wrong.  I personally don't think this will be followed past the first 3 posts at maximum.  But, and I'm not putting money on this, if people continue to read - I'll continue to post.

Here's some background.  I travel for living.  Or rather I should say, I work for a living and travel is the method in which I work.  I manage a territory consisting of 23 states and a good chunk of Canada.  I have the entire Northeast and Midwest, plus a bit further out west to Colorado.  Therefore, due to travelling, I'm able to visit a lot of places that I personally never thought I'd visit.  Some are great cities that folks think highly of, while others not so much; plus some small towns rarely anyone has even heard of...including me.

When I first took this position, the president of my company said to me in warning "Now, Kirk.  Life on the road will get pretty boring after a while.  You'll always see the same chain restaurants and stores.  It'll become repetitious.".  I looked at him and others in the room, gave a grin, and said "But there will always be different breweries...".  It's a well known fact within my company that I'm a beer geek - I don't reserve my beer blabbering just for my friends!  So, this came as no surprise to my superiors, but rather they realized it is a form of incentive for me out on the road.  I took it as a great chance for me to get out and try some new brews, plus get to visit some of my favorite breweries in person!  ...Oh, and to get work done as well of course!

I recognize how lucky I am in getting to travel to other cities; working during the day, and exploring the local beer scene by night.  This blog will showcase the breweries and beer bars I get to spend my time in during those nights.  In a sense, I'm writing these posts to give the reader a sense of where I've been, but also a guide if they're ever in the area themselves.  I want folks to get to use my reviews one day, so along with my personal opinions, I'll give vitals of the locations as well.  I'm sure I'll adapt my writing style as I go along, but hopefully people will find the posts both amusing and possibly helpful.  That being said, if people are actually reading the posts (doubtful), I'll cater to you guys as well.  If you want me to start mentioning different aspects, just let me know and I'll be sure to include them.

So, here are the ramblings of a beer obsessed regional manager, because as the blog title suggests; I will work for beer.
